The problem

The classic production of many fertilizers and care products

This is not only harmful to the climate and the environment, but also leaves a massive ecological footprint. Every stage of this process generates vast amounts of CO2 , which further fuels climate change and endangers the natural balance of our planet. Valuable resources are wasted and biodiversity is compromised.

It is time to choose more climate- and environmentally friendly alternatives to preserve our planet for future generations.

The solution

A negative emissions technology

During its growth, bamboo stores incredible amounts of CO₂. Once the bamboo decomposes, the stored CO₂ is released back into the atmosphere. Before this happens, we harvest the bamboo canes and carbonize the bamboo. This process produces our unique bamboo extract and valuable bamboo charcoal.

The exciting thing is that the CO₂ captured by the bamboo plant remains stored in the charcoal. Thus, with one ton of bamboo charcoal, we can capture approximately 3.3 tons of CO₂ . This corresponds to the average CO₂ emissions of a single-family home for one year. It would take three German beech trees about 80 years to capture this amount.

The future

Making things climate-positive

Finally, farmers in Ghana incorporate the resulting bamboo charcoal into the soil. This stores climate-damaging CO₂ for the long term , while simultaneously contributing to soil improvement. It acts as a natural growth accelerator, retains water, and improves soil quality.

This type of CO2 storage is one of the few that can really help quickly and effectively in the fight against climate change.
